Education: Colorado State University, B.S. Psychology.  Colorado Christian University, M.A.

Summary of Experience:  Whitney worked for six years as a mentor to youth in the community; this experience gave her the opportunity to work with many different families from a variety of backgrounds and lifestyles. Whitney also worked in a treatment center, an inpatient setting, and in homes with adults, youth, and families. Whitney has worked with youth and families for multiple reasons but some include self-esteem, anxiety, identity issues, depression, self-harm, academic struggles, and eating disorders.      

Summary of Approach: Whitney believes in a strength-based approach to counseling. Identifying every individual’s strengths is a huge part of treatment because she believes it empowers the client and gives him or her strength to work through situations both now and in the future. Whitney also believes in a holistic approach because all areas of our lives influence one another. These areas include relationships, self-worth, exercise, academics, and spirituality.     

Personal:  I love to travel. I enjoy traveling to learn more about cultures and experience a life different from my own, I also enjoy traveling to see family and friends because relationship are an important part of who I am. When I am not in the office I love to be outside in all of Colorado’s beautiful seasons, whether it is hiking, biking, soccer, or skiing; I love the sunshine.
